Big kudos for two KTECH students

We've had a busy week full of awards for a couple of our KTECH Mechatronics students.

On Tuesday, Bo Hoover had a signing with Mazda Toyota Manufacturing to be part of the FAME program.

Bo's signing is a great move for him! As part of the FAME program, Mazda Toyota will pay him full-time while he continues his college education, as well as his books and tuition! It's a great move that will allow him to start earning a living while he works on improving his knowledge and skills.

Bo said he's excited to be able to work at MTM, and not just because he's a Mazda fan (his first two cars were Mazdas). He said the company's reputation for taking care of its employees also drew his interest. And they said he knocked his interview out of the park, so it was a no-brainer both ways!

That wasn't our last honor of the week, though! On Wednesday night, Sarah McCaulley was awarded one of three scholarships awarded by the Women in Technology: Huntsville organization through their inaugural toBE Fund, endowed by Alice and Steve Lessman, owners of Signalink.

After submitting a multifaceted written application, Sarah was chosen one of three finalists in the "Skills Enhancement" category, which led to her going through an interview process and subsequently finding out at the WIT 2024 Kickoff event at the I2C facility at UAH on the evening of March 27 that she had been chosen as the recipient of a $5000 scholarship! These funds will cover 90% of Sarah's total tuition cost for her KTECH coursework in Mechatronics, Soldering, and Robotics.

A single mom who is also working part-time while attending KTECH, Sarah was commended by the WIT leadership for her transparency and perseverance in achieving her goals.

Community partners like the WIT organization are such crucial components in the success of our KTECH students, and we are grateful for their support!
